Use A Computer

Do you need access to a computer? De Soto Public Library has public computers available. These computers can be used for a variety of purposes, including job applications, resumes, apartment hunting, research, or just surfing the web.

Computer Access For Members

Any cardholder is able to use a public computer at De Soto Public Library for up to two hours per day. Public computers are available on a first-come-first-served basis. The cardholder’s account must be in good standing: current and complete borrower information (i.e. PIN #, DOB), total fines and fees of $2.00 or less.

Visitor Passes

Visitors without a library card from De Soto Public Library may request a guest pass. One visitor pass at a time per person will be issued at De Soto Public Library. 


All public computers are equipped with the following applications:

  • Microsoft Word
  • Microsoft Excel
  • Microsoft PowerPoint
  • Microsoft Publisher
  • Microsoft Edge
  • Mozilla Firefox
  • Google Chrome
  • Adobe Photoshop


All computers are connected to a public printer, and the charge for printing is $0.20 per page. $0.50 for color.


We ask that members and visitors who are listening to audio while using a public computer or a personal device use headphones. You may bring your own.

Flash Drives

Any files that are saved to the desktops of our public computers will be deleted. Members and visitors are encouraged to save their work via email or to an external drive. We have 4 GB flash drives for sale for $5.00.
